Releasing What You Were Never Meant to Carry
By Lisa Bishop
What if healing isn't about forgetting what happened, but finally releasing the weight of what happened?
The Art of Letting Go is a journey through healing, self-discovery, forgiveness, grief, self-worth and the courage to begin again.
Through reflection, real-life stories and practical guidance, Lisa Bishop invites you to look at what you have been carrying, understand why you have held onto it, and discover what becomes possible when you finally choose to let it go.
Carry the wisdom. Leave the weight.

I didn't write The Art of Letting Go because I had life completely figured out. I wrote it because I know what it feels like to carry things for far too long.
I grew up surrounded by experiences that shaped the way I saw myself, relationships and the world around me. Like so many people, I carried those wounds into adulthood without fully realizing how much of my life they were influencing. I became a people pleaser. I looked outside myself for validation. I held onto pain, relationships, beliefs and versions of myself long after they had stopped serving me.
My own healing journey taught me something important: letting go does not mean pretending the past never happened. It means learning from what happened without allowing it to continue writing your future.
That realization became the heart of this book.
I wanted to create something for anyone who has ever struggled to release a relationship, forgive themselves, grieve a loss, set a boundary, believe they are enough, or simply find the courage to begin again.
I don't write from a place of perfection. I write as someone who has carried weight too.
And if these pages help even one person put down something they were never meant to carry forever, then writing them was worth it.
